At the end of 1946, air line has got its name as aloha airline and had four airplanes. They got permission to operate as a scheduled airline when president Harry S. truman agreed and signed the certificate on 21 February, 1949. aloha air has operated its first scheduled flight on 6 June,1949.

On 30 December, 2004 company filed a case for bankcruptcy to cut their costs and still remain in competition is market.

On March 30,2008 alohaairlines annaounced to suspend all their scheduled flights, due to the heavy loses company has to bear. The shutdown had put bad effects on employees of aloha airlines in terms of layoff of about 1,900 employees.
