Hosting Plans:

The saying "You Get What You Pay For" is very true in all things, including web hosting. Unless you are only interested in web hosting for a personal site skip the cheap hosting plans out there and go straight for Business Class Hosting. The price difference really isn't that huge and the added benefits of Business Class are simply amazing. InMotion offers excellent 24/7 U.S. Based toll-free support and premium features that cheaper hosts don't offer.

Technical and Customer Support:

Nothing is more frustrating than waiting on hold forever or trying to speak with someone who may or may not be clear to understand. InMotion Hosting doesn't outsource their support and their Support Center is located in Virginia Beach VA. Their staff is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and are available 24x7 either by phone, chat or email.

Hold times are very low and our calls were usually answered in under 2 minutes. Some hosts don't offer phone support which is a big mistake in our eyes. If we have a problem we want to be able to immediately pick up a phone and talk to someone that can help.

Features:

InMotion Hosting's plans are built with maximum features in mind. They offer a free premium website builder, free data backups, free domain name and free domain privacy protection all included with their Business Class plans. They also offer the longest money-back guarantee (90 Days) out there.

Their email features include 4 levels of SPAM protection, unlimited email accounts, secure POP/IMAP connections & 3 different webmail clients. One of the things we'd prefer to see is the availablity of hosting unlimited domains, right now their Pro plan maxes out at 16.

Their data network is one of the higher end networks available. They use (5) Tier 1 providers, BGP4 routing and ISP Peering. BGP routing allows them to switch between providers fairly seemlessly if there's a bottleneck somewhere or an outage. ISP Peering is when a host has a direct connect with an ISP's network. Meaning a lot of the server "hops" are eliminated.

One of the things that impressed us was the fact that you have a choice of data centers with their Business Class plans. It can make a lot of difference in speed being close to your server. Imagine sending an email to the person sitting next to you and having that email travel across the country and back just to reach their inbox. Yeah doesn't make much sense to us either.
