Regions Bank is a community focused bank with local leadership offering full-service commercial and retail banking with 1,400 branches and a 1,700-ATM network across 16 states throughout the Texas, South and Midwest. Its headquarters is in Birmingham, Alabama. Regions Bank is a part of Regions Financial Corporation.

It is involved in many community services but it has laid down its policies according to which they allocate resources and make donations. It has program for helping organization by the name of Charitable Giving Program. This program exercises social responsibility in the following four categories:

 

A. Community/Economic Development 

Any organization that is working for the economic development of the low income group in the community for making them independent, empowered and fulfilling their basis need and improving their life standard. Regions Bank supports such programs, so organizations indulged in such activities are eligible to apply for it.

 

B. Education 

Organizations involved in providing education and improving literacy in the communities. The children from the low and moderate income group households should benefit from these programs. Regions Bank is aimed at nurturing and grooming young underprivileged talent. It also support programs that are focusing on , teacher training programs, higher education initiatives, and capital campaigns, particularly those relevant to business or the banking industry.

 

C. Health & Human Services 

Regions Bank provides overall support to the United Way, their primary outlet for sponsoring health and human service efforts in their communities. 

 

D. Arts & Culture 

Regions Bank provide support to the arts and cultural activities for students and also to the activities that are serving low and moderate income group communities.

 

Along with these, Regions Bank has also placed some restrictions, so that the organizations may think before applying for support.

The following restrictions are mentioned on their website. These restrictions states that the organizations that are involved in any type of discrimination be it racial, gender, nationality, color or any other discrimination of the familiar status. All organizations that are, under the Internal Revenue Code, are lacking tax exempt, they are not eligible to apply for any kind of support. An individual is also not eligible for any support. No political candidate or organization can ask for support. Also the religious organizations cannot seek support for the activities that represent some particular religion, creed or faith. No annual campaign of any organization would get any support if they are already supported by United Way. They also do not give away any athletic scholarships nor do they support any organization sponsoring athletic scholarship. No alumni associations can seek support.

Regions Bank has also mentioned some guidelines for requesting gifts. It is quoted as follows on their website. The organizations that want to be considered for the Regions Charitable Giving Program are must to have 501(c)(3) non profit status. It is also necessary that the organization is operating in the state where Regions Bank is doing Business. The organization should send a written proposal to the president of the Regions Bank of the city where the organization is situated. This proposal must contain a letter of request and state the purpose. The letter must be written on the letter head of the organization. A list of the current board members of the requesting organization must also be attached. Along with all this the most current and audited financial statement should be attached. Any other document or information that the organization may deem important in the consideration of the gift must also be attached. The Regions Bank accept request round the year. Normally the decision for the grant is made with in 30 to 45 days.
